I surprise Alex with an early wake up call. A babysitter comes over to take care of the Bear, and Alex and I head out for Alex's surprise.
A few subway pics. Gotta love NYC art. Even in the subway.
Surprise! Cooking class! Though technically it's a preparation meal class since this a raw vegan class. We make lasagna, pesto fettuccini, caesar salad, vegetable soup, and walnut ice cream with a chocolate glaze. And yep, all vegan and all raw. Here's our teacher with the lasagna.
Alex with his pesto pasta.
When we get home, the Bear gives us our own surprise. He finds the fire truck that Mommy hid (yes, Mommy admits hiding his precious fire truck, but she is in hands-up defense mode. De-fense, clap clap. De-fense clap clap. C'mon and join in this cheer.)
Mommy distracts him with some banana bread from Nana.
Mommy doesn't know how it happens but she eats a couple slices and then all of a sudden, there's only one piece left. Here is the Bear holding that last piece.
Now it's time for jamming to Baby Beluga. Daddy on guitar.
Bryson really gets into it. Mommy gets her bongos.
The Bear starts fist pumping, a move he learned from Daddy. (Daddy wants me to add that he is fist pumping to David Bowie specifically.)
Stayin' Alive pose here.
But that's not all the poses the Bear knows. He also starts saying cheez and flashing his Bear smile.
Complete with teeth. I think the Bear is catching on that Mommy takes an obscene amount of photos of him.
The Bear surprises us by sharing that last piece with Daddy.
The Bear continues his sharing by giving the manatee some of his apple.
And giving the manatee some of his milk too.
Such a big boy - already 22 months!
With a big snow dump today, we bail on our plans to go to the park. Instead, we have some baseball inside. Ready.
Throw.
And then...
Catch!
