Attempting the Transition to the Bed

We are attempting the transition of getting the Bear to move from the crib to the bed. Though we hadn't actually planned or scripted it out, I am crossing my fingers. It would be awesome to be able to take down the crib and move the Bear's massive playpen out of the living room. Fingers crossed - though as I type, the Bear is still playing with his trains and trucks.

Gifts from Guam

Auntie Jo Blas from Guam sent us some treats from Mommy's old "hood" in Guam.

Holiday Express at the NY Historical Society Museum

Where else in the world could we commute 15-20 minutes from door to door and get to some of the best museums in the world? Fifteen minutes after leaving the house we ended up at the NY Historical Society for the Holiday Express Jerni Collection - handcrafted toys and trains, replicas of actuals from the early 1900s.

What a way to motivate the Bear to get dressed, eat, and put on his coat, mittens, and hat when you can tell him, "Let's go see trains!"

The Bear (and Daddy!) loved the glass bubble to admire the trains. We even got to see a movie about NY's history and also learn about Chinese immigration.

On the subway home, we got to see fossils including the T-Rex and Stegosaurus.

Vegan Meatloaf

We had Thanksgiving dinner, vegan style - with portobello mushrooms and a bunch of stuff Mommy has no idea about. Thank goodness Daddy cooks!

Matisse Cut-Outs at the MOMA & Calling Nana

We headed to the Museum of Modern Art to see Matisse's cut-out. There, the Bear insisted we call Nana and Aunt Corey. His side of the conversation... "Hi Nana! Yes, I'm good. How are you? Yes, we are in the museum!"

Playdoh and Maracas

Art from the Bear's school. They made their own playdoh and maracas.

Happy 34 Month Birthday!

Mommy (amazingly!) is a day early in taking the Bear's birthday pic. But better early than 2 weeks late.

The Bear got a new train (Percy) from Aunt Emily. It's his new favorite.
