Cook, Eat, Repeat: Enjoying Life with Nana and Aunt Corey

Visits to Cleveland are often full of tradition, including the tradition of cooking, eating and cooking, eating. Though I have to admit I am pretty exclusively on the eating side. Lucky for the Bear and me that the Wolf's are quite the chefs. I just finished eating a fantastic peppermint chocolate mousse that Corey made especially for us "Crazy Vegans." :)

So it's not surprising that the day starts with a delicious blueberry pancake breakfast and banana bread, then follows with making French bread and lots of snacking of focaccia. The Bear sometimes can slur his words but with focaccia, he impresses us with his clear enunciation, telling us, "Focaccia!" What the Bear can achieve when his belly is motivating him.

With all that eating, we need some walking. Here's the Bear looking like Ralphie from A Christmas Story.

Having trouble walking.

Daddy takes pity and hoists the Bear up.

Up onto the slide. Whee!

Back at the ranch, the Bear naps a solid 3 hours and that afternoon emerges transformed.

With the help of Aunt Corey, we now have a new mailman.

Not just the hat but also the striped pants.

And matching satchel. Ah yes, bonafide mailman.

Mr. Bear delivers mail to his first customers.

He determines the most efficient delivery method. Clearly he requires some wheels.

After such a tough day delivering mail, the Bear rests by the fire.
Ralphie is so impressed with the Bear's delivery skills that he gives the Bear a kiss.

The Bear retreats to safety.

But then is called down to make sure he is in place.

To wave to Nana and Aunt Corey before their dog walk.

After a pasta dinner, the Bear and Daddy do some bonding on the potty.

Aunt Corey joins the potty party (aka Saturday night "be seen" event).

Aunt Corey helps the Bear for bath time.

The Bear lines up his water friends and leads us all to clap for his artistic line-up.

Aunt Corey impresses the Bear with her dolphin

The Bear shoots back with his fish car carriers.

Not to be outdone, Aunt Corey makes a fish sandwich. The Bear is clearly impressed by his Aunt's prowess.

But he does not give up and explains to her what a sawfish is (This is the first time Mommy has even heard of such a thing.)

Before Aunt Corey can come up with a solid comeback, the Bear pulls out another trick - brushing the whale's teeth. Talk about hygiene!

Proud to be the winner of that showdown, us fans sit around the fire reading a story about animals and the Bear does his famous mono impressions.

The Bear and Nana close out a busy and fun day.
