Easter Egg Hunt

Mommy finds Mr. Bear this morning at the piano. She is reminded of her days as a kid practicing on her piano. Too bad there's no room in our tiny apartment for a piano.

Mr. Bear has a huge bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, then later has three mini peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. In the car, he has two granola bars. This is his second granola bar in his hand. He conks out but still keeps the bar tight in his hand. Mommy tries to pull it from him but it's a no-go. Mr. Bear is not giving it up - even in his sleep.

We've arrived at the farm.

Nope, those aren't palm leaves in Mr. Bear's hand. Those are bamboo. You'll see why we have these later.

The horn blows and the egg hunt starts.

Mommy and Daddy encourage the Bear to throw some elbows to make sure he gets those eggs.

Steph reminds Mommy that we are in DC, not NY, and there is a second round for people who don't get any eggs.

Squats and reaches for this Bear.

Carefully putting his eggs in his very Easter-ish bag.

Yes, it's a Gap bag.

Very focused.

Post egg-hunt (no, we didn't need the second "no egg" round), we head to the pirate ship slide. Here's the Bear not letting go of his Gap bag.

Ready, set, go!

Then to the farm itself. Roosters and chickens here.

Even peacocks. Yum, thinks the Bear (no, not really, but Mommy is not sure why that tongue is out.)

Showing off his dientes and bubbles.

Gallinas aka pollos aka KFC.

Mr.Bear still won't let go of his Gap bag. Mommy missed the shot, but for a little bit, the Bear had it in front of Daddy's face, blocking his view. Mommy thought that was funny. Daddy didn't.

On the big bouncy balloon.

This was before thousands of children descended on the balloon. Mr. Bear and little Alex were the first ones on.

Cautiously starting out on their bottoms.

Now on their feet. Joined by Uncle Chris and little Alex.

Taking a quick breather.

Then it's off to the cabras.

Little Alex and Mr. Bear feed the goats.

Did you know that goats eat bamboo? Mommy still learning new things each day.

Mr. Bear starts singing baa, baa black sleep. These are goats, not sheep, Mr. Bear... Mommy decides to ignore these details and not point that out to the Bear.

"Little goat," says the Bear. Also called a kid.

Walking the bridge.

A little crowded on this Easter weekend.

Talk about lucky day. This farm even has a fire truck.

Since this is not NYC with long lines, we walk right up and get right into the front seat.

Beep, beep!

Mr. Bear is ready to check out the steamroller (yes, they have that on this farm too).

Old school fire truck.

Now at the Panda Maze (it is bamboo filled).

Singing his fire truck song.

Daddy is confused about where to go.

This farm even has cow rides.

Mechanical cows pulled by a tractor.

Here is the Bear on Buttercup.

No adults allowed to ride.

Here we go!

Holding on tight.

Little Alex is a bit nervous so she gets her daddy to hold her hand.

The two dads walk along with the mechanical cows.

Very manly.

All smiles.

Well maybe not from little Alex.

And we're back.

Now on to a hay ride.

Sitting together in the back of the bus (I mean hay ride tractor thing).

Rocking the winter hat.

So is little Alex.

We see raccoons, dear, bear, wolves, and even... pumpkins.

And we even go in a moat. Woah.

What an adventure!

Mr. Bear then takes himself for his own tractor ride.

In the drivers seat.

Let's go!

Big wheels keep on turnin'.

Partners with Uncle Chris.

Bonding.

Tether ball. Mommy is reminded of the days when she obsessed over this game.

Now on to the big slide.

You hike to the top of the hill and then gun down through a pipe.

Whee!

Holding tight to the kiddos. Again!

Last time.
