NASA Baby, Raspberry Fingers

Mr. Bear always has a new trick up his sleeve. Raspberry fingers is his latest. Daddy is convinced that a full tummy is the key to the Bear sleeping through the night, so the Bear gets a "midnight" (or 10pm) snack before hitting the sack.

The Bear counts one by one (in espanol) as he places each on his fingers.

Today is our first family bike ride with Mommy using her new red bike (bicicleta roja). We bike from the house all the way across the Brooklyn Bridge to Pier 6. Less than 30 minutes. Not bad for compared to an hour commute on the subway. Here we're enjoying the grass and the guitarist.

It is getting hot and we are eager for the water park to open up. This might be a family Sunday ritual of biking, band, and water park. Then crashing at home for nap time.

The Bear pulls out his nail cutter and Daddy cuts away.

After biking back home, Daddy and the Bear head to the Y for some swimming. Mommy decides to use this time to put in their family application to the GOES program. After an hour, the Bear and Daddy are back and the Bear reports to Mommy that he did some reach and pull and kick, kick, kick. Daddy reports to Mommy that the Bear still hates to swim on his back - mostly because that means getting his hair wet.

After nap time (where Mommy takes a quick snooze too and Daddy heads to Brooklyn Boulders for some rock climbing), we head to Washington Square Park to see a couple astronauts and a bunch of cool exhibits. Here the astronauts tell us about life in space.

Lots of space vehicles to check out.

This bus wasn't in space but Mommy liked the colors.

Land Rover.

Mr. Bear in his own astronaut suit.

After the fair, Mommy grabs some Vietnamese take out for dinner while the Bear and Daddy head to the "Big Park." Mr. Bear goes up and down this little slide at least 50 times.

Down.

Then up.

After fifty times, we start slowing down.

Then it's time for swinging.

Now time for the sand. Of course the Bear is going to collect all the shovels and buckets.

"Bucket accident!" the Bear reports to Mommy and Daddy.

Mr. Bear then counts and organizes his collection.

Before we head back home (Daddy is going to a concert), the Bear asks to work with the numbers and organize those too. Organized and analytical little B.

Check out what the Bear is learning about at Manhattan Kids Club in Movement Class. They are leaning not just body parts and the skeleton but also about movements like rotation and abduction.
