The Bear hands Mommy a book: Read!
Mommy: What do you say?
The Bear: Read please!
Mommy: Ok.
The Bear: B-O-O-K-S. Books!
Mommy (thinking): Now where did he learn how to spell?
Three books later Mommy is pretty tired and wants to take a nap.
Mommy: This will be our last book because Mommy is tired. Ok?
The Bear: Ok.
Mommy and the Bear finish the book and the Bear puts his book away and plays by himself with his blocks. The Bear even poses with his block creation. Daddy in particular is impressed with the two block, then three block foundation.
Daddy and the Bear start the day with swim class.
Then we bike 45 minutes into Brooklyn for a birthday party at Prospect Park. Daddy and the Bear are trying to jump in the air together. Little Bear scores a couple inches off the ground.
Birthday boy sends his purple ball across the grass.
We bike the 45 minutes back over the Brooklyn Bridge and put the Bear in his crib for his nap. He sings Old MacDonald, counts in Spanish, Tagalog, and Mandarin, sings Happy Birthday to all his classmates, and then somehow is able to get ahold of some books. It's no surprise that the Bear doesn't nap for much of his nap. Mommy finds the Bear on his belly reading his books.
We head to the Bubble War at Union Square Park where hundreds of people are gathered making bubbles.
Daddy and the Bear among the bubbles.
There's even a guy in a plastic bubble.
And a NYC crazy in spandex underwear dancing among the bubbles.
The Bear is stunned.
Then it's playground time.
And water fountain time. This is the Bear's first of the summer season.
Daddy reminds Mommy that the water is ok to drink. This isn't India after all.
We then end the night with date night - Aretha Franklin!
