During bath time, the Bear tells Daddy, "Daddy, I miss you." He then proceeds to give Daddy a hug and pat. Four times. Boy does the Bear love his Daddy.
While we're on the theme of bath time, the strawberry/blueberry incentive for pee pee in the potty is working. We are on four days in a row. Bryson's daycare starts official potty training in the fall, so there's no hurry to push him, but we are quite proud about the Bear's pee pee progress.
Today we head to Coney Island (about an hour on the subway) to the Mermaid Parade. While we wait, we check out the new roller coaster.
Meanwhile, the Bear naps (2 hours!)
Old cars kick off the parade.
Even an old fire truck! Too bad the Bear is sleeping.
The Bear wakes up just in time for the official parade to start.
Mommy pauses here. If you get offended easily / don't have a sense of humor / aren't open minded / are judgmental, you probably should skip the next 30 photos or so. Mommy was surprised about the openness of the parade, but thought this was good family fun and exposure for the Bear anyway.
Mermaid Metro Card.
There were even strollers in the parade.
Covered in Metrocards.
Mr. Blue Man also did a stomach roll too. It was quite enthralling.
The Bear and Daddy are all smiles with that performance.
Daddy was not too impressed with gold cape man.
The Bear compared this parade to crossing Mardi Gras with Burning Man with Mermaids.
The Bear was not quite into the beads and soon took them off.
After the parade, we head to the beach - taking a quick pic with the roller coaster - 90 degrees up and then 90 degrees straight down.
The Bear tells Daddy he wants to go swimming in the ocean. No swim trunks? No problem.
At home, the Bear builds.
And then sorts and puts away. Ever the organized Bear.
We head to Zen Palate for dinner. Mommy loses points on her Whole 30 challenge. Eh, what's life without a few bites of yummy food?
Silly Bear.
At the park by Chelsea Piers.
Mini rock climbing.
Knuckles!
Mommy is trying to get at least one pic in - though the Bear is not having it.
Dedos de los pies.
With the alligator.
Binoculars.
Then turn it the other way!
