Camping Bear: Don't Get Dirty!

Mr. Bear continues to impress Mommy and Daddy. This weekend we take him camping for the first time, and his most popular phrases were:

When hiking: "Don't get dirty!"
When hiking through puddles: "No puddles!" (aka avoid the puddles)
When in the bathroom (this was a souped up site that had showers!): "Don't touch anything!"
When holding his bowl of grapes: "Don't drop the grapes!"

Amazingly enough, we didn't even need to prompt the Bear. A puddle would appear and then suddenly the Bear is telling Daddy, "Daddy - no puddles!"

That is our little sweet (and maniacally metro and clean) Bear!

Here we are arriving at the camp site in the Catskills.

The Bear and Daddy set up at the picnic table. Right next to it is our own fire pit where we burned logs at night.

The Bear and Daddy prepare our meal.

Two tents.

The plan was to have the Bear in one and Mommy and Daddy in the other.
The reality was that the Bear and Daddy had one tent and Mommy had the other.
The next night, we all shared one tent to stay nice and toasty.

Oatmeal and raisins!

Brushing teeth.

Mr. Bear spots a squirrel on our picnic table eating the oatmeal.

Time for hiking. Two steps out of our campsite, the Bear tells Daddy, "Backpack!" So much for hiking.

The Bear conks out for an hour. All the other hikers are jealous of the Bear's ride.

"Tree accident!" the Bear reports.

Halfway through the 7.5 mile hike, the Bear treks on his own.

Almost to Giant Ledge.

"No puddle" the Bear reminds Daddy to carefully sidestep the puddles.

Back in the sack.

The Bear with his eagle eyes spots a caterpillar. For the next hour, he keeps asking Daddy and Mommy where the caterpillar went when we put him back on the ground. The Bear is very worried.

Finally at the Giant Ledge.

Mommy tries to get a pic with the squiggly Bear.

A rare family pic!

The Bear does a lot of the hike himself on the way back.

Lots of jumping off rocks.

Impressively, the Bear made this massive climb all by himself. About 45 minutes of rough uphill.

Finally finished. The Bear conked out.
