Here is our homework for this week. Number 3 is Rob's shot. Being the Renaissance man that he is, he is an aerospace engineer by day, race car driver by weekend, and kickball enthusiast at night. Did I mention that he is going to be featured in a BBC episode in the summer as a race car builder and driver? I am a proud sister :)
Assignment 4
MOTION, MOTION, and MOTION! This week we give you MANY options for capturing motion! You can freeze it, pan it, imply it, traffic streams, flowers in the rain, zooming, Monet, oh MY!!! Pick out three DIFFERENT techniques (your choice which) and upload your three shots!

Analiza, Wonderful shots here! Love the panning shot and
the motion on the background is really exciting and you have a nice tack
sharp subject! Nice job with that He is a little dark and the reason is that
the light where the rider glides by is quite different than the light on the
background. SO, what you can do is manually meter the road where they are
passing by and be all set. If you do that, you should get an exposure out of
camera like the edit below. The shot of the guys playing kickball is great
and I like the motion of the ball in this case, BUT if you wanted to freeze
that ball, even in low light- you have room for that. You are at f/8, but at
30mm there isn't a a lot of depth as far as the camera is concerned from this
far back. If you wanted to freeze the ball then you are in a case where you
DO care and can open the aperture and if you were to open to f/2.8 then you
would be at 1/250 sec. The pinwheel shot is perfect! Love the composition and
the way you put Dad and kid together so closely! Nice job with everything-
motion, exposure, composition! A perfect picture! Bryan
