Alaska Day 4: Juneau

Mr. Bear has been solidly giving everyone he meets high fives, knuckles, hugs, and even kisses. Until the time Mr. Bear meets another bear. "Knuckles!" the Big Bear offers.

Mr. Bear is not so much into this Big Bear. But after a minute, he relents and gives the Big Bear a high five.

The Three Bears.

We visit a salmon hatchery and learn that salmon are born in freshwater, travel and live in salt water, and then return to that very same stream to spawn. Right after they spawn, they then die. The hatchery is a non-profit to help maintain the salmon population. It is actually not a farm, much to Lola's disappointment that she can't order a salmon sandwich.

Mr. Bear meets another bear, this time a grizzly.

Mommy loves the mouth on this guy.

Mr. Bear gets the touch pool all to himself. He touches sea cucumber, starfish, and some sort of crab.

Eagle eating salmon.

Hatchery behind.

On the tram up to the top.

This is an eagle's nest. Massive!

Another bear for Mr. Bear.

Lola and the Bear play with the mystery boxes at the Nature Center.

This mystery box has real antlers in it. Mr. Bear tries them on.

Mr. Bear puts his paw in the bear paw print.

Then Mr. Bear puts his paw in the wolf paw print.

This measures the height of a grizzly bear.

We see a couple eagles in the sky. Then Lola measures her wingspan.
