Daddy and the Bear went to the park today. Daddy says, "Bryson saw his favorite train. A girl was looking like she was going to grab it. I've never seen the Bear run so fast. He ran to that train and kept running with it."
This is the beloved train.
Mr. Bear loves it.
Can you put a 2 year old on a bike for 6 hours? Mommy and Daddy take on the experiment with the TD Five Borough Bike Ride.
Diapers - check
Sippy bottles - check
Organic granola bars - check
We are all set. Except an hour later, Mommy and Daddy realize that they never packed a water bottle for themselves. On the positive side, at least Mommy didn't have to worry about needing to use the bathroom. See, there are benefits to dehydration :)
Mr. Bear was a bit skeptical of wearing his helmet cover.
But it was worth it just to get the family coordinate pose.
At the start of the race.
Daddy and the Bear in his car seat right in front of me.
The Bear did pretty well. People asked how old he was, and I had to remind myself that if a race offical asked, I would say that he was 3 - the minimum age for a kid in the race.
After a couple hours, the Bear actually passed out in his car seat. Which is tough because there aren't any head rests and the poor Bear had his head knocked about until Daddy figured out that he could wedge the Bear's head against Daddy's behind. (Mommy wishes she got a pic of that).
Mommy and Daddy deliberate whether we should bail and get on the subway so that the Bear didn't need to go through the wedge against Daddy's behind. Luckily, when we stop to figure it out, the Bear wakes up.
Here is the Bear running back to Mommy after getting his diaper changed.
Crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. Almost 40 miles. Not bad!
