Can an almost 20 month old really show compassion? A couple weeks ago, Bryson was obsessed with the bear from "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" and he was really worried that the bear was going home by himself at the end of the book. He kept pointing to the bear and said "bear" sadly over and over again. We kept reassuring him that the bear was going home to sleep, sleep.
Last night we read Country Mouse and City Mouse and Bryson was really worried about the mouse getting eaten by the cat. He kept saying "mouse" over and over again during bath and even after we put him to bed. We tried reassuring the Bear that the mouse was ok and was going sleep, sleep (this is a comfort tactic of mine, apparently). Poor little Mr. Bear.
Today I caught an early train to New Haven so Alex took the Bear to his work's daycare.
Pretty spiffy outfit that Dad chose for the Bear - collar popped up and all.
Here's the Bear's report card - even talks about B sharing and showing compassion.
Mr. Bear up to his tricks.
