Book Worm: Bryson's First Trip to the Library and an Update on Huggies

While I love the extra hour of sleep from Daylight Savings, the 5:30pm sunsets are a real downer, and I can already feel the winter blues setting in.

So bye bye to park visits, but hello to the library! Racking my brain for places to take the Bear after pick-up, I realized that our West Village library is open late two nights a week. They have a designated children's room where a dozen or so kids aged toddler to 10 were reading, doing homework, playing on the Internet, or like Bryson wandering around singing and pointing at all the animal murals and books. Finding this gem is a big win and will keep us happy for at least two nights a week through the winter.

Also, a quick update on Huggies. We had our go see yesterday and entered a room of 20 or so toddlers and their nannies/mommies. We checked in, gave them our name, and were handed a Huggies diaper. "Put your child in this with a t-shirt." Somehow everyone had gotten the memo to bring a white t-shirt - oops! Then 10 minutes later a woman (they call these people handlers) called Bryson's name. Changed out of his Pampers and now in his new Huggies and non-white shirt, I handed him over and poor Boo was surprised and started bawling. They then took him to another room where they took a picture of my bawling child in his fake Huggies (but really Pampers loyal) and his non-white t-shirt.

Alas, there is a lot of truth to - "Don't call us. We'll call you."
