We start our Saturday morning with a, "Woo woo!" and check out a fire truck.
Mr. Bear and Daddy do a detailed inspection of the body.
Including the back.
Did you know that there is a driver in the back of the fire truck to steer the rear?
Now checking out the front. The firemen come back as we are admiring their truck.
Today we get a special surprise and Mr. Bear gets to be in the driver's seat!
Quick bench break after the excitement.
On the subway to the Intrepid.
Who needs Daddy when the Bear can sit alone.
Daddy tries to remind the Bear, "Partners."
The Bear is engrossed in all the Broadway ads and lets go.
Who needs Daddy when we can handle the subway on our own.
"Out!" the Bear tells us.
Mr. Bear loves NY.
Today it is warm enough to shrug off the snow suit and wear his just-right jacket.
The Intrepid, a retired Navy ship. Lolo would be proud of our visit.
Checking out the deck which boasts a couple dozen planes.
Mr. Bear insists that this tour must include, "Snack!" Apparently snack does not equal banana, squeeze pack, or bar. It must be crackers. Or fruit snacks. Mommy makes a mental note to add to her, "Must pack for the Bear so he won't go ballistic list."
Ooh - Blue Angels.
Mommy is reminded when Uncle Rob and she used to watch the Blue Angels shows at Miramar Naval Station in San Diego as kids.
Helicopter. All branches are represented on this Navy carrier.
"Tiger plane!" the Bear explains to us.
Entering the shuttle pavilion.
Shuttle Endeavor. Now the Bear has seen two of five shuttles. Atlantis was during our trip to Florida in December. These of course are the first two that Mommy has ever seen.
"Whee!" the Bear squeals as Daddy simulates their own space shuttle ride.
"Space shuttle carrier," the Bear explains to us. Daddy and Mommy are impressed with him coming up with this name. He also points out, "Astronaut." How he remembers that from our trip to Florida we don't know.
Here's the shuttle on top of a plane as it is delivered to NYC last year.
"Shoulders," the Bear tells Daddy. He loves his birds eye view.
Mr. Bear and Daddy get to go in their very own helicopter.
Army represented.
Back at the fort, the Bear decides to take his own fire truck for a spin.
Mommy admires the rear.
