More Bryson-isms

1. Mr. Bear is learning how to use the index of his Planets and Space book.

Bryson: Mama, what do you want to learn about?
Me: Um, Mars?
Bryson: Yes, Mars. (Looks up Mars in the index.) Oh yes! Page 23!
(Proceeds to get to Page 23 but then gets distracted...)
Bryson: Mama, look - Venus! Which is the hottest planet?
Me: Um, Mars?
Bryson: No, silly Mommy! Venus!

2.
Bryson: Mama, you are so handsome!
Me: Well, thanks Mr. B. Although, you know, boys are handsome, girls are pretty.
Bryson: Right! I am handsome. And you are pretty!

3. Alex and I have been using the strategy of moving Bryson along to get out the door by "racing" him to press the elevator button, go to the front door, etc. This strategy has been working except for just recently.

Me: Mr. Bear - who's going to be the first to push the button? Mommy!
Mr. Bear: Mama, it's not a race.
Me: What? Oh, right. It's not a race.

Now even before I head to the door, he will turn to me and say...
Bryson: Remember, Mommy, it's not a race. We walk and don't run.
