We really want the Bear to learn how to swim, but since we are in New Paltz every weekend now, and the Kingston YMCA is a 40 minute drive from the house, we opted for private swim classes for the Bear at our neighborhood McBurney YMCA a few minutes walk from our NYC apartment. Here is the Bear at his first lesson with Carol. Alex and I figured that even with a hefty price tag (averaging $71 for each class - just 30 minutes), it was worth Bryson getting 1:1 attention and we could do it on a weekday after school around our schedule.
