Despite the very late arrival into Vegas, we are up and at
‘em bright and early to hit the Red Rocks. Alex spares me the typical 4 hour
approach. The route he picks actually has a path and cairns, though there is a
bit of bouldering at the end. We have an “easy day” of 5.7 climbing and 2
pitches. I can’t recall the last time I went rock climbing – though Alex tells
me it was 6 months ago in Arches back in March. I am grateful for the brand
spanking new climbing shoes that give me lots of stickiness on the rock.
We then head out in the afternoon to Zion, Utah.
