Sam’s Point Preserve + Emergency Vehicle

I spent the morning with a long nap (woah, that hasn’t happened in a year!) while Daddy and the Bear played Lincoln Logs and read Berenstein Bears. Later we headed to Sam’s Point Preserve for a 1.2 total out and back where we enjoyed the beautiful views. Unfortunately, as the Bear went scampering downhill, he tripped and gashed his forehead (I’m not exaggerating here – there was a good amount of blood, enough for me not to take a photo – and you know that has to be a decent amount if I’m not going to break out my camera). Luckily (!!!) there was a volunteer emergency vehicle force (fire truck, ambulance, medics) just a couple minutes away. They were in the middle of waiting for a rescue to come down from the mountain. In the meantime, the Bear got his gash cleaned up and even got a Bear to hug and take home. We are proud that the Bear only cried for a couple minutes (all that anti-crying training is paying off!)
