Yes, partay, not party. Because it is that kind of party.
Well, not really. But Mommy did shake (I mean wake) the Bear up thirty minutes
before the party started, shoved him into some coveralls, threw down some
cereal, and voila – we were just 7 minutes late.
We arrived just in time to listen to a marathon of four
Elephant and Pig storytelling. The Bear was able to sit through the first two,
but then was “over it” after the freeze dance. Before the finale (a new book
that the Elephant & Pig had apparently written and are doing a national
tour), the Bear and Mommy bailed. But not before throwing some balls into a
basket (one of the books is about the elephant and pig learning to throw). We
headed out before the possibility of the Bear being tempted by the ice cream
partay. As if Mommy wanted Daddy to cut off her head. The audacity!
Later, it was train time and puzzle time. Mommy had to kill
her instincts to try to finish the floor puzzle. Especially since the Bear had
already walked away. And she wasn’t even really having fun anyway. What a weird
trait to always want to finish everything she starts.
