We visited the Civil Rights Museum where Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated. The Lorraine Motel and his hotel room are kept up in pristine condition. As we walked through the very moving exhibits, I attempted to share with Bryson what had happened. And did a very poor job. Later Bryson would ask me, "Why did the white people burn the black people's bus?" Ugh. Alex rightly pointed out that I need to be more thoughtful about what I share with Bryson and when, though I really do want him to be exposed to our country's history and be aware that racism and prejudice are still living today.
