More great pearls of wisdom from friends on how to help the
sibling relationship. “Talk to Bryson about how his little sister looks up to
him, will learn from him, how he knows everything and she knows nothing.” “Get
Bryson involved with helping with Scarlet. It will make him feel important.” “Make
sure you have special one on one time with Bryson where Scarlet isn’t involved.”
And my favorite, “Don’t underestimate bribery. Make sure that Scarlet gets
Bryson gifts periodically.”
We’ve taken all these pearls of wisdom and followed through…
We talk about how Scarlet looks up to Bryson and thinks about him when he is at
school, how she dreams about him and when she cries, it’s because she misses
him. We have special Wednesday night pool time with Daddy and the Bear. Then
there’s special Mommy and Bryson snuggle time before bed – when I can actually
stay up past 9:30pm. And of course, lots of presents from Scarlet to the Bear.
So from all that, how does Bryson feel about Scarlet? …
Actually, it has worked like a charm and he absolutely adores her. He even
helps with her feedings with holding the bottle and burping her. He also plays
with her too – sometimes quite vigorously as he rocks her rocker. My favorite
is when he sings to her…
So happy that we have a little sister for the Bear!
