The city of Lod, located just 25 kilometers south of Tel-Aviv, is one of the oldest, culturally  richest and most diverse cities in Israel (Jewish, Muslim and Christian residents living side by side). Jindas is a grassroots organization working in close partnership with residents, the municipality and other key stakeholders.

Hike Masada and tour King Herod’s historic hilltop fortress, where a small group of Jewish zealots took refuge after the Roman destruction of the Second Temple in 70 BCE, resisting a prolonged siege by the Roman army.

“Food Truck” lunch at Havarei Massada

“Leadership Dilemmas” program at the bottom of Masada Sunset, “Havdalah” and reflection time (Hitbodedut). The ritual involves lighting a special havdallah candle with several wicks, blessing a cup of wine and smelling sweet spices. Shabbat ends on Saturday night after the appearance of three stars in the sky.
