Big Boy Swing

Mommy's Happy Moment #1

The Bear: "I want milk!"
Mommy: "What do you say?"
The Bear: "Please!"
Mommy tries to give him a sippy cup.
The Bear: "Cup!"
Mommy puts milk in a cup and worries about the mess that is coming.
The Bear smiles at Mommy: "Very careful."

Mommy's Happy Moment #2.

The Bear's reward (bribery?) for peeing in the potty pre-bath is paying off. The Bear has been peeing 80% of the time and eating Mommy and Daddy out of house and home with eating the $9 one ounce box of organic raspberries/blackberries that Daddy's get from the neighborhood yoga store.

Tonight the Bear pees in his potty and Mommy gives him a $9 pile of blackberries. But the Bear trumps his accomplishment with what he does next. He takes his potty and dumps it into the toilet. Nice!

After school today, we head to... where else but the Big Park. The Bear immediately requests (orders?) to go to the swings. Here he is on the baby swing.

A five year old boy asks the Bear, "Do you want to play baseball?" The Bear answers, "Yes!"

The boy tries to recruit other boys to join them. No such luck.

Mommy doesn't intervene at all and just lets the boys play. The big boy gives the Bear the bat (read: stick) and hurls a ball at the Bear. There isn't any contact in this game, but they do switch later and the Bear pitches (read: sends the ball behind him rather than in front of him). Daddy - who played baseball in college - would be proud.

Back to stuff the Bear knows - climbing rainbow bars.

Who needs to go up a ladder when you can go down? The Bear is becoming a pro at climbing down the ladder.

Who needs to go down a slide when you can go up?

The Bear tells Mommy, "I want to play with Axel!"

Hauling Mommy's hand in the right direction.

"Mommy, let's go!"

A new game with Axel. Through the hoop - Axel has some impressive moves here.

Mr. Bear is impressed with Axel's moves.

The Bear does a copy cat of Axel.

The Bear wants to go back to the swings, but the baby swings are occupied. The Bear gives it a go on the big boy swings for the first time. No falls!

Hugs to Axel.

The Bear finds the car carrier and rescues it before a little girl tries to "grab" it.

Score! The Bear finds a back hoe.

Before leaving the park, we enjoy a pair of saxophones (one of whom is wearing a bright red suit) and an Animal-like (think Muppets) drummer. It's awesome, and the Bear insists that we sit and watch for awhile.
