It's pretty rare for us to stay in the city for the weekend. We're almost always in New Paltz if we are in town. But this weekend, we decided to stay since there was lots going on - Hunter benefit, birthday parties, and lots of shenanigans (got this word from my brother) to be had.
So here we go! Kicking it off with Scarlet on the moon.
It is Spirit Week at MKC - Bryson dresses up in his angler fish shirt (for animal day), wears his super tight (not yet inappropriate but getting there) airplane PJs, and wears a shirt backwards. Every other kid got their face painted, and when I asked the Bear about why he didn't have a painted face he responded matter of factly, "Well, I wanted to get your permission first." Bryson isn't really the get out there/crazy type of guy. Which I kind of like :)
On to the parties. I was pretty psyched for Bryson to get to go to a childhood place of mine - Chuck E. Cheese.
Poor guy thought he had hit the jackpot with 100 tickets but we found out that only bought him a little toy - which Scarlet immediately broke when he showed it to her. Well, better that then a couple tootsie rolls, which another boy "won." Apparently, Chuck E. Cheese now allows parents to buy tickets for their kids and shows all the cool prizes like Lego boxes - which are thousands of tickets. And then the kids do their whining and screaming thing, so the parents have to fork the cash over. Tricky Chuck E. Cheese...
At the Children's Museum of the Arts art fair. Here is a home made ski-ball. Bryson gets to practice his skills from Chuck E. Cheese.
Another party - this time at the sports center playing basketball and other sports.
This is an old pic from Bryson's birthday party - here is Scarlet with Amy and Mike's baby Allison.
Bryson spots a lotus parked on our street.
We're in town for the Hunter benefit. So might as well have a play date with Bryson's new buddy Webber. Hunter is really cool in that it sets up kids with an other child so they'll already have a friend before starting school. Webber is heading into second grade and lives downtown too. They bonded over their love of Legos.
Magna tiles - we just got Bryson a huge box of these which he hasn't really played with much. But put these at a fair, and BAM Bryson is super interested in playing with them. Hmm...
Scarlet also finds time to show off her skills. She is curious about everything and even her teachers tell us that she always wants to get into everything. Here she grabbed Alex's helmet and starting putting it on her head - all her idea. Silly Scarlie.
Snuggle time.
Scarlet, our little hallway baby. She is about to grow out of her crib. I'm crossing my fingers that it'll last a few more months.
So tired - why not take a nap in the tub? Bryson's own water bed.
