Friends and Family,
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope
you are safe and well. Now more than ever we are grateful for our blessings –
including you, our family and friends.
See below for our
holiday card and here for our 3-minute holiday video.
While challenging, we have
tried to see the upsides focusing on what we most care about:
·
We’ve bonded as a family during weeklong pre-COVID canoe trips
in Texas, Alabama, and Florida and a summer cross country trip with lots of social
distancing and camping. The kids have also been able to spend quality time with
their grandmothers and uncle.
·
We have been able to appreciate nature even more, doing lots of
rock climbing, swimming, biking, stand up paddle boarding, and skiing.
·
Bryson (8) and Scarlet (4) spent 4 months with only each other
as company. Bryson surprised us by teaching his sister multiplication, helping
her read (Scarlet is now reading Narnia on her own!), and protecting her from a
rattlesnake!
·
Alex shifted to a new job at Mizuho still in Treasury and loves
the culture and people.
·
Analiza continues to lead Neighborhood Charter Schools and has a
program to support more leaders of color and women, especially mamas – without
sacrificing family or self-care. Please let her know if you’re interested in joining!
Wishing you a new year of safety,
love, and connection!
Love and hugs,
Analiza, Alex, Bryson
& Scarlet
