What does a good wife to do for her husband’s birthday?
How about let him plan it himself?
Luckily, Alex is such a great husband, he loves planning
things himself :)
Win win for all!
For Alex’s birthday, he planned a canoe trip to the
Adirondacks. It was a long drive for a short 3-day weekend but it was worth it.
Except that the weather turned bad and we had to shorten the
3-day trip to two. Luckily, Alex is a pretty happy, chill guy, and he was happy
to get any time in the water.
Except that once we put our canoe in, we got slammed with
massive winds and as hard as we could paddle, we could barely move. In fact, we
were getting pushed back!
Alex had the brilliant (not!) idea to paddle to a far off
campsite, but I put my foot down (paddle down?) as the good wife and said, “Nope,
we’re camping here.”
Luckily, we had a great night and the wind calmed down, and
we had a wonderful canoe the next day.
