Glacier: Getting Caught in a Thunder and Lightning Storm, Raccoon Tent Attack

Glacier has been on our bucket list for quite a few years. We got lucky with Uncle Charlie scoring a mountain top cabin, so Bryson join him and Nana for a 4 day hike up the mountain, and Scarlet, Alex and I checked out the park and met up with them afterwards.

Highlights of the 2 week trip:

• Lots of eagles and even otters!
• Lots of bears (black, grizzly) and close up too! We ran into a mama bear and her cub about 20 feet away!
• Canoe trip in the back country for a week. Had to create our own camp grounds. Raccoon tearing up our tent on Night 1 :( Only saw people 3 times. We got caught canoeing in a thunder and lightning storm, poor Bryson fell into the water. Thank goodness he’s taken swim lessons at the Y!
• Climbing into the “eye"
• Waterfalls (our version of a shower)
• Running into a snake while swimming out in a lake
• Poor Scarlet getting a bee sting
